Black Sherif, known for his genre-bending sound and raw storytelling, turned heads in a bold black ensemble fused with traditional kente accents.

The Ghanaian trap star was all smiles as he mingled with global music heavyweights, representing his roots with pride.
Though nominated, the singer fell short of winning the Best International Act award at the 2025 BET Awards to Nigerian Afrobeat star Ayra Starr, who triumphed over a competitive field of global nominees, including artists from Brazil, the UK, France, South Africa, and Swaziland.
Rising Afro-fusion songstress Moliy Music brought elegance and edge to the red carpet. Dressed in a futuristic gold gown with hints of Ghanaian beadwork, she spoke to reporters about the global rise of African women in music, calling it “a new era for unapologetic African expression.”

Comedian and philanthropist Michael Blackson, who proudly identifies as “African by DNA,” kept spirits high with his signature humor. He arrived with his fiancée and waved the Ghanaian flag on the carpet, drawing cheers from fans.

Ghanaian-American rapper Vic Mensa, a consistent advocate for African unity, appeared in an all-white look with subtle Adinkra symbols stitched into his jacket. He shared moments with fellow African artists backstage, calling it a “night of Black global brilliance.”
