Germany-based production trio 255 is setting the tone for a standout year with the release of their latest track, “Smooth Kriminal,” a sleek, Afro-fusion single featuring none other than Nigerian superstar Oxlade.

While Oxlade delivers the melodic vocals, it’s 255’s polished and genre-blending production that forms the heartbeat of the track. 

The track is a sonic nod to the kind of woman who’s as dangerous as she is irresistible.

With Oxlade singing “She’s a smooth criminal, she’s a killer,” the song glides through smooth percussion, moody synths, and irresistible grooves; hallmarks of 255’s ever-evolving production style. 

255 (pronounced: twofiyfive) is a band of three brothers located in the world of Afrofusion. The producer trio is signed to SoulForce Records and published by Sony Music Germany. 

While the two younger siblings Charlie (21) and Guy (25) handle music production, Louis (29), an internationally awarded film director, adds a visual dimension through music videos and storytelling to the band and their art. Creating a unique path, not only sonically but also visually. 

With their upcoming and third album “Trinity”, 255 enters a new level on their journey. The trio made clear they came to stay in Nigeria and continue to musically contribute and develop. Their upcoming album reflects this dedication for afrobeats with a diverse lineup of acclaimed Nigerian artists. 

The album is the result of two years of unwavering commitment—a vision brought to life across many recording trips to Lagos, accompanied by five music videos and a 25-minute documentary.
